Applications of CASE/MULTICASE to Environmental Situations.

Department of Environmental and Occupational Health, University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA, USA.

SAR methods such as CASE/MULTICASE that can use non-congeneric data bases are well suited for a number of practical applications:
  1. To prioritize chemicals for further testing, regulatory action or remediation Examples:
  2. To develop toxicological profiles Example: this will be illustrated with 7 chemicals of interest to the U.S. Air Force
  3. The design of chemicals with optimal beneficial activity and minimal toxicity Example: The design of dual action agents (Herbicide + Fungicide) devoid of toxicity
