To: jobs at ccl.net Date: Sun Jan 13 20:54:58 2008 Subject: 08.01.13 Postdoc/Visiting scientist Position, Computational Biophysics/Biochemistry/Biology, UAB Applications are invited for one Postdoc/visiting scientist Position in computational biophysics/biochemistry in the Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) at The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Highly motivated candidates with strong research background in self-assembly, homology model, ligand-receptor interactions, large macromolecule interactions, and methodology developments are especially encouraged to apply. Experience in scientific programming, computational modeling experience in atomistic simulation techniques (such as Molecular Dynamics, Quantum Mechanics,Monte Carlo, Docking, homology model) and continuum model (such as Finite Element Method),and familiarity with UNIX/Linux operating system are highly desirable. UAB is a major research university and academic health center that discovers, teaches and applies knowledge for the intellectual, cultural, social and economic benefit of Birmingham, the state and the nation. The UAB faculty is renowned for its excellence in interdisciplinary research programs. The BME department has developed a strong record of extramurally funded interdisciplinary research, and has extensive collaboration with colleagues in Dentistry, Engineering, Medicine, and Natural Sciences & Mathematics. The candidates have opportunities to accept education and training in multi-& interdisciplinary research environments, and have opportunities to interact with researchers in School of Engineering, School of Medicine and School of Dentistry at The University of Alabama at Birmingham.
