Currently, we are seeking the following:
Computational Biologist (R6/7)
This position will focus on the development of novel computational tools for a range of research and development objectives. Specific areas of interest include: biological pathway data integration, modeling, inferencing and analysis; large-scale expression data mining and analysis; novel algorithm development; application of machine learning methods; and computational tool development. This person will actively identify novel scientific challenges to which to apply technological solutions; design and prototype custom computational approaches for a range of scientific challenges; and work with a global team of scientists to design, build and deploy novel prototype computational technologies.
Candidates must have a graduate degree in computer science or equivalent experience; a Ph.D. in computer science or equivalent experience; 5-7 years in related field; expertise in MySQL, Oracle, SQL, and database design/architecture; expertise in Java, Perl and other programming languages; experience in the use of Unix/Linux environments; and knowledge of modern molecular biological concepts and research methods.
