To: jobs at ccl.net Date: Thu Jan 24 16:26:17 2008 Subject: 08.01.24 Computational Chemist with Pfizer Animal Health, Kalamazoo Michigan Pfizer Animal Health is looking for a Computational Chemist to be a prime mover in the development and success of the Veterinary Medicine Chemistry teams. Responsibilities include providing hands on computational Chemistry/Molecular modeling support and act as the key person in the identification and delivery of computational analysis/solutions in the understanding of the activity/physicochemical properties and the design of novel drug substances. Collaborate with Medicinal Chemistry programs to find ways in which molecular modeling could advance projects. Liaise with the Pfizer Global Research and Development computational chemistry groups to ensure veterinary medicine is aware of and has access to all appropriate computational tools. A PhD in Chemistry or related science is required and three years experience in Computational Chemistry. Experience in a broad range of small molecule molecular modeling and experience in one or more of the following: QSAR analysis, Pharmacophore generation, Ligand based drug design, Lead optimisation, Virtual Screening, Docking and scoring methods. Sound knowledge and practical examples of having performed small molecule modeling.
