Open position for an exchange PhD. student.

A position for an exchange PhD. student is available in the group
of Dr. Stepan Sklenak (http://www.jh-inst.cas.cz/~sklenak)
of the J. Heyrovsky Institute of Physical Chemistry, Prague, Czech Republic.
The duration of the position is 6 months and the stay must be finished in 2008
due to funding restrictions (therefore the stay should not commence after
July 1, 2008). The student will use a periodic DFT method implemented
in the VASP program to model the structure, reactivity, catalytic activity
and properties of zeolites. The methodology used will be the same as that
published in our paper JPC C, 2007, 111, 9393. The work will be done
in a close collaboration with experimentalists of the J. Heyrovsky
Institute. Experience with either quantum chemistry (QM/MM) modeling
of zeolites or with the VASP code (calculations of insulators)
is very desirable. 

This is not a postdoctoral position. It is suitable for an individual
who is a PhD. student at a university and would like to spend 6 months
in our laboratory to gain more scientific experience.
