Bristol-Myers Squibb www.bms.com Location: Princeton, NJ Position Description: Work with multidisciplinary team comprised of computational chemists, chemists, biologists, bioinformaticians and IT personnel to analyze and visualize target class data. Identify correlations between screening data and cell based and functional assays. Predict and rationalize selectivity, potency, function of selected compounds. Develop binding poses of compounds with their respective targets. Analyze data to identify target profiles. Position Requirements:Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry or related field. Excellent communication skills. 2 years post doc or industrial experience preferred. In depth knowledge of several techniques for computer aided drug design. Expertise in small molecule drug design methods and QSAR. Familiarity with methods for conformer analysis and optimization, de novo drug design, molecular mechanics, quantum mechanics, binding free energy prediction, and virtual screening. Familiarity with methods for conformer analysis and optimization, de novo drug design, molecular mechanics, quantum mechanics, binding free energy prediction, cheminformatics, and virtual screening. Competency in programming in C and in scripting languages such as Perl and Python would be an advantage. An aptitude and desire to learn and apply new techniques is expected. A basic knowledge of medicinal chemistry and biology. Personal attributes of integrity, creativity, problem solving, and strong work ethic.
