We Currently Have The Following Opportunity:
Computational Sciences Innovation
Primary responsibilities for this position include innovation and implementation of computational chemistry databases that ultimately accelerate the delivery of products and projects against Research milestones. Other responsibilities include design and maintenance of small molecule and protein databases; installation and maintenance of commercial, in-house, and freeware applications; and some amount of systems administration (primarily linux). The incumbent will also frequently interact with other computational chemists and biologists that are technology- or TA-aligned at our sites, with our Partner Lines, and with Research Informatics. The end-users of the global portfolio that we develop will be Medicinal Chemists, Biologists, Partner Line colleagues, and other Computational Scientists.
The position requires a BS in a scientific field with some industry experience. Advanced knowledge of relational databases is required. Technical qualifications include facility with building and maintaining relational databases, some level of linux system administration experience, and operating systems such as Linux and Windows. Knowledge of, or experience with, Pipeline Pilot, small molecule conformation generation, and commercial computational chemistry software packages would be a plus. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are essential.
