PhD and Postdoc positions available

If you are interested in Computational Biology, more precisely molecular
simulations of biomolecules, protein structure and mechanics,
bioinformatics, and/or high performance computing check our outstanding
research opportunities.

Our research areas include:
MOLECULES under FORCE
BIOPOLYMER ELASTICITY, polymer physics
PROTEIN ALLOSTERY, factors, mechanism, evolution
CELLULAR protein assemblies with mechanical function
PROTEIN NETWORKS and evolution
ENZYMATIC function under force

We work at the PICB (www.picb.ac.cn), a joint institute of the Max-Planck
Society and Chinese Academy of Sciences, located in the heart of Shanghai,
and the Bioquant, University of Heidelberg (www.bioquant.uni-heidelberg.de)

State of the art molecular dynamics and hybrid quantum/molecular
mechanical methods will be used and partially developed. The group-owned
extensive parallel computing clusters and access
to supercomputing facilities in Shanghai will be at your disposal.
You will work in close collaboration with experimental groups, in Shanghai,
Germany, and the US. Employment is possible
both at the PICB in Shanghai and/or the MPI in Stuttgart.

You will enjoy working on a challenging project in an interdisciplinary
and international group in a stimulating and supportive environment.
Excellent PhD candidates can benefit from the training opportunities at
