Computational Chemist R4/R5

The primary responsibilities of this position are for discovery and implementation of novel computational methods, analyses, and workflows that ultimately accelerate the delivery of products and projects against Research milestones. Research activities could include identification of novel methods for lead transformation, reaction-based template design for parallel synthesis, virtual screening, structure-based design, scoring function design, or in silico predictive methods for improvement of ADMET characteristics.

The position requires a Ph.D. in a computational science-based discipline or equivalent, plus 3+ years of relevant industry experience. Advanced knowledge of computational chemistry principles and knowledge of how to apply these techniques to pharmaceutical research projects is required, as well as knowledge of pharmaceutical drug discovery and development processes, molecular design and optimization principles, and downstream property optimizations that enable successful drug candidates. A strong background in chemistry, and especially parallel chemistry design methods, is also required. Technical qualifications include good scientific computing experience with programming languages such as Java or C++, relational database tools, operating systems such as Linux and Windows, and/or web application development tools.
