InhibOx, the computational drug discovery company, is seeking a senior computational chemist to join its Oxford-based research team. The successful candidate will lead the InhibOx contribution to a large pan-European research consortium, focused on zinc metalloprotein enzyme targets, and also play a leading role in other collaborative and internal projects. Job Description: - Lead in-house development of new computational approaches to zinc metalloenzymes inhibitor design and collaborate closely with medicinal chemistry and biology consortium members - Mentor to other members of the team to develop their computational chemistry expertise - Provide hands-on support for InhibOx's wider network of collaborations Essential Qualifications and Experience: - Ph.D. in computational chemistry or related discipline - Minimum of 5 years of relevant postdoctoral. experience with a strong track record in computationally-driven drug discovery, including in industry - Experience in some of the following areas is required: structure based drug design, virtual ligand screening, computationally driven lead optimization, ligand-based design, development of computational chemistry methods, cluster management - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Ability to coordinate and monitor multiple external collaborative projects The Company: InhibOx was founded by Professor W. Graham Richards as a spin-out from the Chemistry Department, Oxford University of Oxford following the hugely successful screensaver project. The company retains strong links with the University and is building novel computational methodologies for drug design and applying computer-based design techniques to internal and collaborative discovery programmes. InhibOx's significant cheminformatics database assets are also a major focus of development, involving international partners.
