From: jobs at ccl.net (do not send your application there!!!) To: jobs at ccl.net Date: Tue Apr 22 10:51:13 2008 Subject: 08.04.22 Research positions in theoretical modelling of organic materials - University of Mons-Hainaut, Belgium TOPIC We have currently open positions in the framework of two FP7 European projects: in both cases, the Mons node is involved to perform quantum-chemical calculations and force-field calculations in order to guide the synthetic efforts towards materials with enhanced performances and to help with the interpretation of the experimental data. Brief description of the projects: ONE-P : this is a large scale project involving about 30 leading industrial and academic groups whose main goal is to design a novel generation of organic semiconductors (n-type transporters, triplet emitters, and materials for solar cells) in the field of organic electronics. RESOLVE : this is a small collaborative research project aimed at developing a bottom-up approach towards the separation of enantiomers in combination with the Dutch Resolution methodology, in order to reach a rapid miniaturized standard for purifying enantiomers via diastereoisomers. The project involves European leading teams in the fields of targeted synthesis of chiral compounds, design and characterization of chiral surfaces, chiral recognition and resolution. BACKGROUND The candidate should have a good experience with the modern techniques of quantum chemistry and molecular modeling and should preferentially be a postdoctoral fellow. The candidate will benefit from the computational facilities in the Mons group and its broad expertise in quantum-chemical characterization of the structural, electronic, and optical properties of organic materials, within a strongly collaborative international context. POSITION The initial contract will be for one year (with possible extension). The starting date of those projects is expected to be September 1st 2008. CONTACTS Ask for any further information or apply for this position by sending your CV (before the end of June 2008), along with the names of three reference persons, to: Dr. Jerome Cornil and Prof. Roberto Lazzaroni Laboratory for Chemistry of Novel Materials University of Mons-Hainaut Place du Parc, 20, B-7000 Mons, Belgium http://morris.umh.ac.be E-mail : Jerome::averell.umh.ac.be / Roberto::averell.umh.ac.beNOTE THAT E-MAIL ADDRESSES HAVE BEEN MODIFIED!!!
