Postdoc Development and implementation of the OEP method for large molecules (1,0 fte)

(Groningen), 38 hours per week University of Groningen

Job description

Postdoc. Development and implementation of the OEP method for large molecules.
We are looking for an enthusiastic researcher with ample experience in scientific programming and development of quantum chemical codes. The successful candidate will take part in the development and implementation of the atomic orbital based optimized effective potential (OEP) method. The development of the OEP method in a local atomic centered basis set will considerably reduce the cost of the OEP calculation and will open up possibility to use this method to study spectroscopic properties of large molecular systems relevant for many interesting applications, such as organic solar cells, molecular switches and molecular motors, modeling nuclear magnetic resonance spectra of enzymes, modeling magnetic response properties of solids, etc.

We offer a state-of-the-art scientific equipment including a 128 node cluster, two shared memory servers with the total of 160 GB of RAM, nicely furnished working offices, and an enthusiastic team of researchers working in a close collaboration with our experimental colleagues.

Requirements

University Graduate
The candidate should have a PhD in physics or chemistry and ample experience with scientific programming in FORTRAN and C/C++.
