Subject: 08.09.30 Postdoctoral Openings in Computational Chemistry, Emerson Center (Dr. Musaev) at Emory University
Postdoctoral Openings in the Musaev group (Department of Chemistry, Emerson
Center) at Emory University

Two postdoctoral positions are open in the Musaevs group, Emerson Center,
Emory University. Successful candidates will work on Computational
modeling of:
- Transition metal systems (complexes, nanostructures and large clusters)
catalyzed organic oxidation, and H-H and C-C bond formation/activation
  processes;

- visible light-driven robust nanoassemblies for water splitting: designing
(in collaboration with experimentalists) of solar light driven robust
  nanoassemblies for water splitting

- enzymatic reactions (including Hydrogenase, various oxygenase and
glutathione peroxidase, as well as reductase)

Candidates should have extensive experience on: (a) understanding of
quantum chemistry methods, (b) application of various (DFT, QM/MM, ONIOM,
TDDFT, and MD, etc) computational tools to transition metal catalysis,
(c) reasonable understanding of chemistry and biochemistry of photolytic
water oxidation, H2 formation and organic oxidation processes.

Excellent communication skills and work experience with a diverse
(experimental and theoretical) research team are beneficial.

Positions are for one year and can be extended up to 3 years on mutual
agreement.

Please send your CV, List of Publications and 3 recommendation letters to
Dr. Jamal Musaev, dmusaev-,-emory.edu

The positions are open immediately.
