Subject: 09.10.22 POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN THEORETICAL CHEMISTRY
A postdoctoral position is available in the research group of Professor Danny Yeager of the Chemistry Department at Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, USA. The person hired will develop, test and implement new methods in theoretical chemistry. The focus of this research will be on complex scaling methods for electron-atom/molecule resonances and photoionization cross sections using multiconfigurational-based methods such as multiconfigurational self consistent field (MCSCF), multiconfigurational spin-tensor electron propagator (MCSTEP) and multiconfigurational linear response (MCLR). The applicant must have a Ph.D. in theoretical chemistry or physics with a strong background in math and large scale computing including a working knowledge of fortran. Knowledge about quantum chemistry methods, second quantization, many-body Green's functions/propagator methods, and scattering theory is useful -- although much of this knowledge can be acquired while post-docing with me. A working knowledge of large scale computational chemistry codes and some experience with code development would also be helpful with the latter being particularly important. This position can start immediately but no later than June 1, 2010. The salary is negotiable and competitive. The initial length of the appointment is for one year with the possibility of extending this.
Applicants should email a letter of application, a curriculum vitae and a list of publications and should cause two letters of recommendation to be emailed. The email address is yeager%mail.chem.tamu.edu.NOTE THAT E-MAIL ADDRESSES HAVE BEEN MODIFIED!!!
