Subject: 09.12.14 Available PhD fellowship in Theoretical Chemistry at the IQAC (CSIC), Barcelona, Spain
The Theoretical and Computational Chemistry group of the IQAC
(http://www.iiqab.csic.es/qteor) has a PhD position available to work in
the following project:

*Coupling of enzyme dynamics and catalysis. Method development and study
of the NAG kinase family and class II aldolases.*

Our group is focussed in the modelling of reaction mechanisms in many
systems, ranging from athmospheric chemistry to enzyme catalysis.

Proeteins are flexible molecules. How has evolution shaped the mobility
of different enzymes components to enhance its efficiency? We will try
to answer this questions using computational techniques.

Because studying protein dynamics and enzyme catalysis requires
different software, this projects will involve some programming and also
the application of Computational Chemistry and Molecular Dynamics software.

This project is supported by the Spanish Minstry of Science and Innovation.
It lasts for 3 years. The starting date is beggining of 2010. Application
date is January 2010.
