We have a career opportunity within our organization for the following position: Research Scientist in CHEMOINFORMATICS We are seeking a creative and motivated Research Scientist with experience in the pharmaceutical industry to join our Chemistry team. The successful candidate will employ chemoinformatics in support of drug discovery projects and will work in close collaboration with multidisciplinary drug discovery teams (medicinal chemistry, molecular biology, pharmacology, computational chemistry, structural chemistry and drug discovery support). The candidate will suggest and design new approaches leading to the; o Identification of novel hit and lead molecules through the mining of screening campaign databases and published literature o Development of in silico ADME prediction models (eg microsome stability, cell permeation, CYP450 inhibition, etc) o Optimization of drug candidates based on physico-chemical property relationships and structural chemistry Qualifications: Candidates should possess a Ph.D. degree / Post doc (or equivalent) in chemistry, or be able to demonstrate significant project responsibility if not in possession of a Ph.D. It is essential that prospective candidates can demonstrate at least 2 years of relevant pharmaceutical research experience, and demonstrate experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams. In addition to substantial training and experience, candidates should possess an in-depth knowledge and comprehension of chemoinformatics across the entire range of the Discovery process, from high-throughput screening to Lead Optimization, including; o Demonstrated expertise in handling/maintenance of large databases, clustering, QSAR, in silico ADME-PK predictions, virtual library design & virtual screening. o Demonstrated skills in the use of standard chemoinformatics approaches (eg PCA analysis, Support-Vector Machine and Recursive Partitioning) and chemoinformatics software (eg PipelinePilot, physico-chemical prediction algorithms). o Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate in French is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
