Subject: 10.01.15 Bristol-Myers Squibb - Research Investigator - Computational Chemistry - PhD
Description:

The Bristol Myers Squibb Computer Assisted Drug Design group is seeking
an applications scientist at the Lawrenceville, NJ site. The role of
this position is to expedite the drug discovery process through the
application of computational techniques as an active member of
multidisciplinary teams comprised of computational chemists, medicinal
chemists, structural biologists, biophysicists, biologists, and
bioinformaticians. This requires the construction small molecule and
macromolecular models via integration of data from several sources and
then applying these models to the design of new small molecule and
biological entities. It is also expected that, in collaboration with
our experimental colleagues, studies will be designed to challenge and advance the modeling results.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess a PhD, or equivalent, in Computational
Chemistry or a related field with two years of postdoctoral or
industrial experience. He or she should have experience with modern
computational techniques including: conformational analysis, quantum
mechanics, molecular dynamics, QM/MM, binding free energy prediction,
virtual screening, QSAR, scripting and/or programming. A basic
knowledge of medical chemistry and biology is also required. In
addition to a strong scientific background, one must have strong
communication skills, a commitment to continued learning, and the
ability to produce timely results with creativity and integrity.
