Subject: PhD position in Theoretical Molecular Biophysics, Berlin, Germany

Opening for a PhD position in the research group of Prof. Ana-Nicoleta Bondar at the Freie Universitt Berlin, Department of Physics. The project, which is within the Priority Programme 1926, Next generation Optogenetics: Tool development and application, aims to develop computer models of ion channels embedded in lipid membranes with photo-switchable lipids. Theoretical methods planned include classical molecular dynamics simulations and quantum mechanics.

The PhD position is for 3 years, salary scale E13 65%.

The position requires a degree in Physics, Chemistry, or related discipline that qualifies the candidate for doctoral research, excellent communication skills in English, and programming skills. Previous experience with theoretical biophysics is an advantage.
