Subject: 16.08.29 Postdoc position in Computational Heterogeneous Catalysis and Surface Chemistry, UC Riverside, USA
The Computational Materials Chemistry Laboratory led by Prof. De-en Jiang at 
Department of Chemistry, University of California, Riverside is looking for a postdoctoral 
research fellow to work on a project on the surface chemistry and catalysis of oxygenate 
molecules on simple and complex transition-metal oxide surfaces. The postdoc fellow will
use first principles density functional theory coupled with transition-state search to 
explore the potential energy surface of adsorption and reactions of molecules on oxide 
surfaces. This work will be performed in close collaboration with our experimental 
collaborators. Applicants are expected to have obtained a PhD degree in 
theoretical/computational chemistry or a closely related field, with a strong background in 
DFT studies of surfaces and reactions.

Riverside is located about 60 miles east of Los Angeles and within a hour drive to many 
attractions in Southern California such as beaches, mountains, Disney Land, Hollywood, 
and Joshua Tree National Park.
