Learn more about BASF SE at http://on.basf.com/Headquarters What you can expect As part of the group Computational Chemistry and Bioinformatics you will be responsible for applying computational protein design and protein dynamics methods to diverse research projects and workflows. o You will identify, evaluate and implement algorithms and software for free energy calculation, molecular dynamics simulation, de novo protein design, homology modelling, protein structure prediction, ligand-protein and/or protein-protein binding. o Close collaboration with experimental groups and tight alignment with project teams' goals will be crucial for your success. o In order to achieve this, you will work with and be supported by a diverse team of computational chemists and bioinformaticians. What we expect o You have successfully finished your PhD in computational chemistry, biology, pharmacy or in a related field with a clear focus on protein design and simulation. o Ideally, you possess both modern bioinformatics expertise and a fundamental understanding of the physics and chemistry of protein structure and function as well as expertise in ligand-protein binding processes. o You have already gained experience in one or more of the following: free energy perturbation, protein dynamics simulations and analysis, advanced protein design methods, and enzyme engineering. o Your excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English will pave the way to an effective work in an interdisciplinary environment. German language skills will be considered as a plus.
