A postdoctoral position is available to work in the laboratory of Dr. Zoe Cournia at the Biomedical Research Foundation, Academy of Athens, Greece. The researcher will work on identifying the origins of allosteric regulation in proteins, identification of cryptic binding pockets and performing computer-aided drug design. More specifically, the study focus is on the structure and dynamics of mutated vs wild-type proteins in association with model membranes using unbiased and enhanced sampling Molecular Dynamics simulations. Moreover, the postdoctoral researcher will work on binding affinity free energy calculations and computer-aided drug design for targeting identified allosteric pockets. The following qualifications are required: Diploma and PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Pharmacy, Biology or related No more than 2 years after finishing PhD degree EU nationality Proven experience in computational chemistry and molecular simulation techniques Programming experience Excellent knowledge (written and spoken) in English The position is announced for one year with the possibility for renewal and can commence as soon as possible.
