Schrödinger's mission is to revolutionize drug discovery through the use of breakthrough computational methods. We are currently looking for outstanding individuals to join our drug discovery group and contribute to our rapidly expanding portfolio of drug discovery collaborations.

Our drug discovery group of over 30 scientists includes designers, modelers, computational chemists, medicinal chemists, crystallographers, biochemists, and biologists with well over 100 years of combined drug discovery experience. The group is supported by more than 100 software developers and engineers. Three of the programs weve worked on in the past 5 years have progressed into the clinic and an additional one is expected to enter clinical trials next year.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Biologist to provide project management and senior technical expertise across multiple drug discovery programs and therapeutic areas.


  • Coordinate preclinical biology efforts across multiple drug discovery programs
  • Responsible for experimental design, implementation and execution of in vitro biological assays (biochemical, biophysical and cell-based) and in vivo testing to support drug discovery projects
  • Identify suitable CROs to perform preclinical biology activities and then manage and coordinate such activities
  • Responsible for data review, analysis and interpretation of results, and troubleshooting issues

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology or related field with 10+ years relevant pharmaceutical or biotech experience
  • Expertise in cell and molecular biology, biochemistry and extensive experience with in vitro biochemical/biophysical and cell-based assays
  • Experience establishing disease-relevant animal models
  • Expertise working with CROs to perform and direct studies
  • Demonstrated contributions to R&D efforts that have led to the development of clinical candidates
  • Outstanding presentation and communication skills
  • Skilled at working in a team environment

Desirable Skills:

  • Solid understanding of mechanisms of drug metabolism and molecular toxicology, drug delivery methods, pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic sciences that support in vivo evaluation of drug candidates
  • Experience working in geographically distributed teams
