Subject: 17.01.31 Ph.D. Position in Theoretical & Computational Membrane Biophysics, Erlangen, Germany
Applications are invited for a Ph.D. position in theoretical and computational membrane biophysics in the Computational Biology Group of Rainer Boeckmann at the University of Erlangen-Nuernberg, Germany. Projects focus on lipid-protein interaction, membrane dynamics, membrane phase transition, structure-dynamics-function relationship of channels using atomistic and coarse-grained molecular dynamics simulations. Candidates should preferably have a master in computational/theoretical physics/chemistry, a good knowledge of statistical mechanics and programming skills. The Ph.D. student will be a member of the Research Training Group Dynamic Interactions at Biological Membranes (www.biomembranes.org).
Interested candidates should send one pdf document containing a letter of intent outlining research interests and and a cv to rainer.boeckmann/a\fau.de.NOTE THAT E-MAIL ADDRESSES HAVE BEEN MODIFIED!!!
All @ signs were changed to /a\ to fight spam. Before you send e-mail, you need to change /a\ to @
For example: change joe/a\big123comp.com to email@example.com
Please let your prospective employer know that you learned about the job from the Computational Chemistry List Job Listing at http://www.ccl.net/jobs. If you are not interested in this particular position yourself, pass it to someone who might be -- some day they may return the favor.
