Subject: 17.04.26 Senior Scientist, De Novo Ligand Design, Schrödinger, NYC

Schrödinger, a technology leader specializing in software solutions for life science research and development, is seeking a computational scientist with outstanding skills in small-molecule de novo design. The ideal candidate is a scientist experienced in the application, development, and refinement of computational methods to rapidly ideate synthetically plausible small-molecule ligands, predict protein-ligand binding modes, and score protein-ligand binding affinities. The candidate should have a demonstrated ability to design, implement and validate novel computational approaches. The candidate should also be highly organized, work well in a collaborative environment, and be familiar with and eager to adopt good software engineering practices. Schrödinger has a strong commitment to engineering as well as science and uses continuous integration, extensive testing, and code review as part of our process.

Required qualifications include:

  • Ph.D. in medicinal chemistry, organic chemistry, computational chemistry, chemical physics, or related fields
  • Unix/Linux, Fortran/C/C++, and Python experience
  • Peer-reviewed publications in computational chemistry and/or chemical physics
  • Experience with protein-ligand docking
  • Expertise in synthetic organic chemistry and design of synthetic routes
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

We offer highly competitive compensation packages. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), flexible spending account, 3+ weeks vacation, tuition reimbursement and a flexible work environment.
