Subject: 17.12.22 Postdoctoral position in computational materials science
A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the group of theoretical physical chemistry at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (Lincoln, USA). The candidate should hold a PhD degree in chemistry, physics, materials science or a related discipline. The research requires application of first-principles based simulations to understand atomistic mechanisms and kinetics at the solid/liquid interfaces as applied to catalysis and energy conversion. Previous experience with density-functional-theory methods and enhanced free-energy sampling techniques is required. The position requires most of the following: Strong background in electronic structure methods, quantum chemistry, ab initio molecular dynamics and free energy calculations Demonstrated record of research productivity Experience with high-performance computing Experience in using major quantum-chemical/solid-state simulation packages (VASP, NWChem, Quantum ESPRESSO, CASTEP, etc.) Experience in programming/scripting in Linux/Unix environment is a plus Excellent oral and written communication skills
