Subject: 18.03.11 Postdoctoral position in computational photochemistry, Linkoeping University, Sweden
A postdoctoral position in computational photochemistry supervised by Bo Durbeej is available immediately at Linkoeping University, Sweden (http://www.ifm.liu.se/theomod/compphys/bodur.xml). The position involves research focused on the design of more efficient synthetic light-driven rotary molecular motors through quantum chemical, QM/MM and non-adiabatic molecular dynamics studies, building on recent designs reported in, e.g., Phys. Chem. Chem. Phys. 2017, 19, 6952; Org. Lett. 2017, 19, 4818 and Int. J. Quantum Chem. 2018, 118, e25405. Candidates for the position should have a solid background in chemistry and computational chemistry, as well as experience in quantum chemical modeling of organic molecules in excited states AND/OR experience in quantum chemical modeling of surface reactions. This experience should be documented in the form of relevant research articles as first author in well-known international journals. In addition, hands-on familiarity with several different quantum chemistry codes (GAUSSIAN, MOLCAS, ADF, TURBOMOLE, etc.) is highly desirable, as is a good working knowledge of Python or similar for efficient data analysis. Experience in running non-adiabatic molecular dynamics simulations is a plus. The appointee is expected to have the ability to work both independently and in close collaboration with other researchers. A good command of English is therefore essential (both written and oral). The position carries a tax-free net salary of 25 000 SEK/month and is initially for 1 year, including a 6-months evaluation period. Subject to good progress, prolongation of the position after 1 year is possible. The project in which the appointee will be working has ample access to high-performance computing resources at the National Supercomputing Centre in Linkoeping.
Applications/inquiries should be sent to Dr. Bo Durbeej at: postdoclinkoping^-^gmail.com Applications should include (in pdf-format): 1) CV (with a list of publications and contact details for two reference persons) 2) A short letter describing your interest to work in the field of computational photochemistry 3) Two representative publications from your previous work 4) Copies of undergraduate and PhD certificates Applications that do not follow these instructions will not be considered.NOTE THAT E-MAIL ADDRESSES HAVE BEEN MODIFIED!!!
