We are looking for outstanding candidates interested in a postdoctoral position to work with Enrique R. Batista and Ping Yang at the Theoretical Division of Los Alamos National Laboratory. The successful candidate will employ electronic structure methods in one or more of the following areas of interest:

  • Chemical bonding, reactivity, spectroscopic signatures of actinide-containing systems;
  • Electrochemical properties of transition-metal complexes to understand multi-electron redox processes;
  • Chemistry and catalytic behavior of metal oxide surfaces.

Minimum Job Requirements: Candidates should have 1.) a strong background in quantum chemistry or condensed matter physics; 2.) experience with major quantum chemistry and/or plane wave computational packages; 3.) computer programming skills to develop code, modify and edit existing codes and scripts.

Desired Skills: Computational method development and building code from scratch

Education: PhD in chemistry or physics completed within the past three years or soon to be completed.
