Subject: 19.06.10 Postdoctoral Position in Computational Biophysics, New York
One postdoctoral position is available immediately in the group of Prof. Themis Lazaridis (http://lazaridisgroup.ccny.cuny.edu) at the Department of Chemistry, City College of New York. Requirements are a PhD in Chemistry, Physics, or related field, experience in theoretical and computational research, and a good publication record. Knowledge of Biology is desirable but not essential. Research in the group focuses on modeling protein-membrane interactions and membrane proteins. The successful candidate will work on an NSF-funded project on developing methods for incorporating proton mobility in classical molecular dynamics simulations and applying these methods to membrane proteins whose function involves proton transport. A solid background in Statistical Mechanics and good programming skills are essential for this project. The ideal candidate would be highly motivated and self-reliant, with good oral and written communication skills and excellent analytical abilities. Interested candidates should email a CV, a description of research accomplishments and interests, and the names of at least two referees to tlazaridis-*-ccny.cuny.edu.NOTE THAT E-MAIL ADDRESSES HAVE BEEN MODIFIED!!!
