Subject: 19.07.21 A postdoctoral position in Molecular Dynamics Simulations
A postdoctoral position is available in the Computational Design of Hybrid Materials (CDHM) group in
the Department of Chemical Engineering, Virginia Tech (Blacksburg, VA, USA).

The research will be focused on the development and application of atomistic
and coarse-grained models, in combination with high-performance computing,
to design materials for energy applications. Specifically, thrust of the
research will be on the development of accurate force-field parameters of materials
and employ these models to study their structural, dynamical and separation
properties. A postdoc candidate will have a unique opportunity to combine
molecular dynamics (MD) simulations with machine-learning and optimization algorithms
to develop these models and to discover new materials.

The position will initially be for one year but can be extended up to
two years based on performance of the individual and upon mutual agreement.

Required Qualifications:

PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or closely related field.

    Strong background in all-atom and/or coarse-grained MD.

Profound knowledge in MD simulation software (LAMMPS, NAMD, AMBER, etc.).

Strong track record of scientific productivity as well as experience
    in managing several projects simultaneously.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in collaboration.

The review of applications will begin immediately. Expected start date is September 1, 2019.
Qualified applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae,
and the names and email addresses of three references as a single PDF
document to Prof. Sanket A. Deshmukh:
