Subject: 19.10.28 Postdoc position in Theoretical/Computational Chemistry, University of Texas at Arlington
Postdoctoral position in QM/MM Development and Kinase Research A full-time postdoctoral position is immediately available in the theoretical and computational biophysics group of Prof. Kwangho Nam in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Texas at Arlington (https:// www.uta.edu/chemistry/faculty/kwangho_nam.php and full publication list at https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/myncbi/1piDov-IJQm5E/bibliography/public/). NIH-funded projects in our group focus on the development of hybrid QM/MM and various free energy simulation methods and their application to understand the functional mechanisms of kinase catalysis, conformational dynamics and allostery, using CHARMM, NAMD and other computational programs. Ideal candidates should be creative, independent and highly motivated individuals, and work on the development and application of accelerated QM/MM and various molecular simulation approaches. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics, or related field. A solid background in computational and theoretical chemistry (e.g., molecular simulations, statistical mechanisms and electronic structure theory) and computer programming, including Fortran, MPI, OpenMP and GPU parallel programming, are essential. We are also looking for highly talented PhD students who are interested in working on the projects described above.
Interested candidates should send (1) an updated CV with the complete list of publications, (2) a cover letter describing research experience, interests and goals, and (3) the contact information of three reference persons, directly to kwangho.nam at uta.edu.NOTE THAT E-MAIL ADDRESSES HAVE BEEN MODIFIED!!!
