Subject: 21.02.04 Computational Catalysis Postdoc Opening
There is an immediate opening for a postdoctoral research associate in the Molecular Science and Engineering Lab (http://railab.che.msstate.edu/) directed by Dr. Neeraj Rai. The successful candidate will model solution phase heterogeneous catalytic process for biomass conversion. The systems of interest are hierarchical zeolites, and transition metal catalysts. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, physics, or a related discipline. Experience is required in periodic density functional calculation using codes such as (CP2K, VASP, etc.). The successful applicant is also expected to have programming experience. The postdoctoral associate position is a full-time, benefits-eligible 12-month basis appointment. The initial appointment is for one year with a possibility of extension based on the performance and the availability of funding. MSU is one of the largest public institutions of higher learning in the state of Mississippi. According to Carnegie Foundation, MSU is a very high research activity doctoral university (R1). MSU had over $244 million in research expenditure for the year 2018. In addition, High Performance Computing Collaboratory (HPC2) provides a number of highly capable supercomputers for computational research at MSU. MSU campus is spread over nearly 4000 acres and provides an ideal setting for research and extracurricular activities.
