A postdoctoral position is available to work in the laboratory of Dr. Zoe Cournia at the Biomedical Research Foundation, Academy of Athens, Greece. The researcher will work on the allosteric regulation of proteins, identification of cryptic binding pockets and performing computer-aided drug design. Studies will focus on the structure and dynamics of mutated vs wild-type proteins in water and/or in association with model membranes using unbiased and enhanced sampling Molecular Dynamics simulations. Moreover, the postdoctoral researcher will work on binding affinity free energy calculations and computer-aided drug design for targeting identified allosteric pockets. The following qualifications are required: Diploma and PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Pharmacy, Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline EU nationality Proven experience in computational chemistry and molecular simulation techniques Some programming or scripting experience Excellent knowledge (written and spoken) of English The position is for one year with the possibility for renewal and can commence as soon as possible and until December 2021.
