Subject: 23.03.14 Postdoc on QM/MM simulations of protein&DNA spectroscopy - Univ. Padua, Italy
The fellowship is at the Department of Chemical Sciences of the University
of Padua, under the joint supervision of Prof. Stefano Corni and
Dr. Laura Zanetti Polzi. It is supported by the EIC Pathfinder
grant iSenseDNA - "Computation driven development of novel in-vivo-like
DNA-nanotransducers for biomolecules structure identification".

This project, encompassing both experimental and theoretical/computational
units, focuses of the interaction between DNA supramolecular assemblies
and biomolecules (peptides and proteins). The main goal of the fellowship
is the calculation of spectroscopic signals arising from DNA-protein
assemblies by means of hybrid quantum/classical computational approaches.
This will require application of quantum-chemical methodologies and
set-up and production of molecular dynamics simulations.
Given the inherent interdisciplinarity of the project, the successful
candidates will work in a friendly and multi-disciplinary environment,
collaborating closely with experimental and theoretical/computational
leading research groups, with the possibility of spending abroad part
of the working time.

Candidate Requirements: The successful applicants should possess a PhD
in computational chemistry or related disciplines, excellent research
accomplishment and very good communication skills in written and spoken
English.

Desired qualifications: The project is extremely wide-ranging and
experience in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous:
electronic structure calculations; molecular dynamics simulations; use of
supercomputing facilities; scientific programming.

Duration of the fellowship: The position is for two years with the
possibility for renewal for an additional year (funding already secured)
and is expected to start in June-July 2023. Salary will be
commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Interested candidates should contact Prof. Stefano Corni and
Dr. Laura Zanetti Polzi by sending their resume at the email address
