From: jobs at ccl.net (do not send your application there!!!) To: jobs at ccl.net Date: Thu Apr 13 10:13:51 2023 Subject: 23.04.13 Postdoc position in computational biophysics and protein modeling, Prague, Czechia The research team led by Dr. Stepan Timr (http://www.stepantimr.com) at J. Heyrovsky Institute of Physical Chemistry in Prague (https://www.jh-inst.cas.cz) is looking for a postdoctoral associate with strong background in biomolecular simulation and coarse-grained modeling. We are a research group focusing on the computer simulation of the cell interior. Using multi-scale molecular models, we aim to elucidate physical and chemical mechanisms governing the organization of metabolic pathways in living cells. Our research team, supported by the prestigious Lumina Quaeruntur Award as well as by a grant from the Czech Science Foundation, is integrated into the interdisciplinary Department of Computational Chemistry, connecting the physical chemistry and biophysics of proteins and membranes with theoretical enzymology and spectroscopy. The successful candidate will build coarse-grained and ultra-coarse-grained models of glycolytic enzymes and use these models to investigate the formation and the properties of dynamic assemblies formed by the enzymes. The goal will be to enhance our understanding of the spatial organization and regulation of glycolysis. The initial contract period will be for 1 year with a possible extension to up to 2.5 years. Requirements: The ideal candidate has obtained their PhD in computational biophysics/chemistry, soft-matter physics, or a related field with the focus on protein modeling. Experience with the parameterization of coarse-grained or ultra-coarse-grained biomolecular models would be a strong plus. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential. Application deadline: The call is open until the position is filled. (Review of applications will start on May 2, 2023 and will continue until the successful candidate is found.) How to apply: If you are interested, please send us your CV together with a list of publications, your motivation letter, and two contacts as a reference to recruitment[a]jh-inst.cas.cz and stepan.timr[a]jh-inst.cas.cz.
