Subject: 23.04.13 Postdoctoral position in NSF Center for Computer Assisted Synthesis (C-CAS) at the University of Notre Dame
C-CAS, a Phase II NSF Center for Chemical Innovation, is inviting
applications for one or more postdoctoral positions in the group of the
director of C-CAS, Dr. Olaf Wiest in the Department of Chemistry and
Biochemistry at the University of Notre Dame. In collaboration with the 18
other faculty members in C-CAS and out industrial partners, the Wiest group
develops a range of predictive methods for organic chemistry using a
combination of data chemistry, machine learning, and atomistic modeling. For
more information on C-CAS, see ccas.nd.edu. Leading references for work in
the Wiest group include DOI: 10.1039/d2sc06041h; 10.1038/s41467-021-27065-2;
and 10.1021/jacs.0c01979.

Required qualifications:
-	PhD in computational chemistry, cheminformatics or related discipline
-	Experience in working in a collaborative environment
-	Strong written and oral communication skills

Desirable qualifications:
-	Familiarity with cheminformatics tools (RDKit, Scikit etc.)
-	Working knowledge of python and Jupyter
-	Experience in the application of machine learning to catalysis and organic
        synthesis

The NSF Center for Computer-Assisted Synthesis goal is to create a platform
and community for scholars of all backgrounds, disciplines, and to
computationally plan and optimize synthetic pathways, and predict reaction
performance. C-CAS is committed to promoting diversity, equity, and
inclusion in all forms. Applications for members of underrepresented groups
are therefore particularly encouraged.

The initial appointment will be for one year that is renewable upon mutual
agreement. Salary will be determined according to previous experience in
analogy to the NIH pay scale.
To apply, please send cover letter outlining interests and qualifications,
CV, description of previous research and contact addresses of three
