Chemical Reactions of
the Krebs Cycle

The following link points to an interactive Web page that illustrates the reactions of the Krebs Cycle, which is also referred to as the Citric Acid Cycle. This page is designed primarily to assist in understanding how these reactions are classified.

By moving your pointer over the pictures of the molecules, the names of each compound can be displayed. When the pointer is placed over an arrow, additional details regarding each reaction (type of reaction, catalyst used, and additional reactants and products required) are displayed. In addition, the atoms that change when going from reactant to product are highlighted. To close the new window, simply 'click' anywhere.
