The MarvinView application can display xyz files and other formats. It is in Java, so it also runs under Windows.
 You can download it at http://www.chemaxon.com/products.html

 This application is free for academic and home users.

PS: You may be interested that MarvinView is also available as an applet for web applications and as a JavaBean for creating Java applications
