We used Basic Authentication method, the most popular one. It has the
advantage, that you only need to check if
request.getRemoteUser() returns a valid userid.
The major advantage of it is that you can use the
/etc/passwd with it, but for the Grid, you would
now most likely want to use the methods based on GPDK by Jason Novotny
