In the control area on the right, there is a job monitoring button.
It brings up the Job Monitoring applet. The applet connects to the server
and checks the status of the jobs. Initially it was just calling methods
of JobStatus Java Bean using CORBA. Then we changed it to contact the
servlet which provides the same information. Now, we would probably
do it as a servlet/JSP page. Another possibility is to use VNC client
and display the Graphical output from some Job Monitoring server.
There is also a file browser to move files around. Quite frankly we did
not use it too much, since our Analysis Toolkit was doing most of file
transfer.
