QSAR Mailing List is maintained by The Cheminformatics\and QSAR Society, http://www.qsar.org. The purpose of this discussion list is to provide a forum for scientists involved with classical QSAR, multivariate statistical modelling, molecular modelling, and computer-aided drug design to exchange ideas and benefit from each others' experiences. It is also used to distribute messages of interest to The Cheminformatics and QSAR Society members.
All scientists who investigate quantitative structure-activity relationships in medicinal, agricultural, or environmental chemistry, by any one of these methods, are invited to join the Cheminformatics and QSAR Society. Membership information can be obtained from the Society Home Page at http://www.qsar.org.

Note that the mail server housing the list uses greylisting to fight spam and messages are intentionally delayed for about an hour under most circumstances. Therefore, do not expect instant responses from the server.
 
Currently all posting to the list are ANONYMOUS, i.e., list subscribers do not see the author's name and email address on the From: line. This line displays the address of the list rather than the email address of the author. This is done to protect the message author against spam. Moreover, messages are displayed on the public Web site and subjected to spyware on your MS Windows computers that collects the email addresses from email that you read and sends them periodically to the servers of crackers without you even knowing it. Yes, I know, not on your computer, but statistics is merciless: most Windoz PCs are infected. However, you should sign your message and provide your email address in the text of the message, but we strongly advise that you change your email address by replacing the @ sign with something else but easily guessed by humans. You can also write your address in words. The robots of spammers are quite primitive since they have to do scanning fast. The spyware is limited to very small programs that are by necessity primitive. Use these examples as templates, but add your creativity to it: myid@example.com --> myid(*)example.com or myname@example.com --> myname -at- example -dot- com. This should be something simple and obvious so the address can be easily recovered, yet if we change the addresses in a different way each time, the robots are helpless.
