This is a very challenging position as a statistical researcher and
consultant. Primary responsibility is to support major drug discovery
projects and develop new methodologies in the areas of chemistry and
biology, providing expertise on statistics/mathematical modeling,
experimental design, data analysis and interpretation of results for
studies in drug discovery. Candidates need to have a very strong
theoretical background in statistics with experience in chemisty,
biology and genetics preferred, and have the ability to move forward in
any direction the research projects may lead. This position will
determine initial approaches and solutions to statistical/mathematical
problems, act as a statistical consultant to colleagues in biology and
chemistry, and develop/perform multivariate data analysis in the fields
of quantitative structure activity relationships (QSAR) and
Chemometrics. Will apply problem-solving and methodological expertise
in experiment design to optimize the experiment within the constraints
of the "real world".

Requirements:

Ph.D with 4-5 years for Res Biostatistician III (preferred) or Ph.D.
with 1-2 years for Res Biostatistician II. Must possess a broad
knowledge of statistical/mathematical theory and know how to apply these
techniques to the day-to-day drug discovery research. Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills a must. Experience in using
SAS/Stat required. Knowledge in the following areas required:
experimental design, multivariate analysis, regression analysis, linear
and nonlinear models, nonparametric analysis and sampling techniques.
Experience in chemistry, biology, genetics and data mining preferred.
Experience in using S-plus would be helpful.
