Subject: 26.02.02 Postdoctoral position in molecular simulations of asymmetric biomembranes at Okayama University, Japan
One postdoctoral position is available at Okayama University for research on molecular simulations of asymmetric and heterogeneous biological membranes. The research aims to clarify how lipid asymmetry between membrane leaflets and membrane heterogeneity, such as lipid rafts, regulate permeability, transport efficiency, and membrane fusion. Large-scale coarse-grained molecular dynamics simulations will be performed using SPICA and Shinoda-DeVane-Klein (SDK) force fields. The successful candidate will work on topics including molecular permeation through asymmetric membranes, interactions of peptides with lipid bilayers, and membrane fusion processes relevant to drug delivery systems. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. degree and have strong experience in molecular dynamics simulations. Experience with coarse-grained models or lipid membranes is preferred.
