This directory contains the shareware version of the molecular-animation
graphics program MOVIEMOL, version 1.2. There are three executables:

1) moviemol.exe : PC-version. At least a 386 with a math
coprocessor and 4 Mb of memory is required
to run the program. The program uses extended
memory, so you may have to deactivate your
                                memory-manager programs.
2) moviemol.silicongraphics : Version for silicon graphics indigo-type
workstations. Change the name of the file to
'moviemol' after copying it to your work-
station and type 'chmod +x moviemol' to make
it possible to execute. To be able to run it
is necessary that the GL graphics library is
                                installed on the workstation.
3) moviemol.ibmrisc6000 : Version for IBM RISC/6000-type workstations.
Change the name to "moviemol" and type
'chmod +x moviemol'. In AIX version 3.2.5 and
later, you also need to give the unix command
                                     'setenv XLFRTEOPTS "namelist=old"'
and preferably include this statement in your
                                .cshrc or .login file.
The GL graphics library and a 3D Color
                                Graphics Processor are required.

There is a time-limit (until Jan 1, 1997) on the executables in this
directory. The reason for this is that, since the moviemol program is
still being developed, we want the older (and buggier) versions to
disappear. But we will see to that the directory always contains the
latest, activated, version.

There are six input-examples: ex1, ex2 etc. To execute the program,
type "moviemol", then for example "ex2" when the program prompts for an
input file.

The directory also contains a manual, named "manual.ps" or "manual.txt".
See the manual for more information (it is still the old manual, version 1.1).
