So the question re comparing PowerPC RS/6k to pentium is fair, the 250 has a single-chip cpu running at 66MHz like the pentium systems. However it is important to ask what operating system you plan to use for the pentium system. Any benchmark will be dependent on this, as far as I understand it. If you have the pentium system available, we could probably compare timings for, say, one of the standard Gaussian-92 test jobs.
