The Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center (PSC) is requesting proposals to compute on
Anton 3, a
specialized supercomputer for Molecular Dynamics simulations of biological
systems. Anton systems
were designed and built by D. E. Shaw Research to vastly accelerate MD
simulations. The third-
generation Anton at PSC can perform molecular dynamics simulations on systems
consisting of several
millions of atoms at speeds of microseconds per day. It is available without
cost for non-commercial use
by biomedical researchers.
Time on Anton is allocated on the basis of research proposals submitted to
an independent committee convened by the National Academy of Sciences. Faculty
and staff
members at U.S. academic or not-for-profit research institutions, including
researchers without previous
experience on Anton systems, are invited to apply for an Anton allocation.
The application deadline is Tuesday, October 21, 2025. To help with the
application process, we will offer two webinars on Monday, September 22. See
how to register for the
webinars and the Request for Proposals, which includes Anton benchmarks, at:
