303. ENERGY:Atomic Energy Levels by Screening Parameter Formalism

by H. D. Cohen, R. C. Vik, Ira Katz, and James Harvey, Systems, Science, and Software, La Jolla, California 92037

ENERGY consists of two programs. One program called TAPER prepares coefficients which are then used by subroutine ENERGY.

This subroutine calculates ionic energy levels quickly. One specifies the configuration and atomic number, and the average energy of the configuration in electron volts is returned. This program uses the screening procedures developed by D. Lyazer [Ann. Phys., 8, 271 (1959)] and Naqvi and Victor.
