Subject: 23.12.20 Postdoc, Solid State Calculations and Modeling of Materials, Jovanovic Group, NC State University, North Carolina, USA
Essential Job Duties:

The primary purpose of the Postdoctoral Research Scholar position will be to
theoretically predict, model, and analyze the properties of new quantum
materials. The work will focus on exploring connections between chemical
bonding and quantum phases of matter, with the objective of improving design
rules for quantum materials development.

The Postdoctoral Research Scholar will be mentored by Dr. Jovanovic
and will participate in the weekly group meetings and meet individually with
this principal investigator at least once per week when the travel schedule
allows. The Postdoc will write journal articles under the principal
investigators supervision and attend at least one academic conference
during their time in the group.

The primary duties include conducting research, giving seminars, and
writing papers in English. Secondary duties include mentoring of junior
scientists, such as graduate and undergraduate students.

The Department of Chemistry at NC State University provides professional
education for chemists at the undergraduate and graduate levels;
teaches introductory chemistry courses, which are needed by students
enrolled in other department programs; advances the discipline of chemistry
by conducting research; serves the public by sharing information about
chemistry through a variety of mechanisms and services, and commits to
creating environments that are in alignment with our mission, vision and
values. Our department is home to award-winning faculty and is one of
NC States top producers of patent and invention disclosures.
More information about the department can be found at
