The Medical University of Vienna organises a Ph.D. call twice a year and offers 15 fully funded Ph.D. studentships with a flexible starting date in the summer or autumn of 2024. We encourage ambitious and creative young scientists interested in research in human-centred technologies and sciences with a suited Master's or equivalent degree to develop their original research project with the support of our renowned and international scientists.
Our university is a leader in transnational science and has an excellent infrastructure that invites you to conduct research and network with your peers. We are connected to and adjacent to one of the largest university hospitals in Europe, giving scientists the opportunity to work closely with patients, not just for them. Last but not least, our university is home to a dynamic international research community that is growing all the time and is well connected at both a national and international level. The campus is located in the heart of Vienna, which has been ranked among the top three most liveable cities in the world for years. About the application:
Applications must be made via the Universitys online application portal, please follow this link:www.bit.ly/3l7WMhs to apply. All open Ph.D. studentships are advertised on our website, and applicants can select up to 3 projects of interest. For the application processs, you must submit all diplomas and certificates in English or German. You may do the translation yourself for the application process. Upon acceptance, you will be required to provide us with an official translation of the documents.
Interviews: Online interviews will take place in late April/early May, 2024 and the organised campus visit will take place in late June, 2024 for successful Ph.D. applicants.

About the general requirements:
-          Master degree or equivalent in a relevant field (depending on the open Ph.D. positon). You can apply to the Ph.D. call before graduation and indicate the expected graduation date in your application. 
-          Excellent English language skills - we are an international crowd and English is our working language!
-          Solid knowledge of the science field in which you are applying in
-          High motivation, self- initiative and a strong passion and commitment to research
-          Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary and international team
-          Project-specific qualifications as described in the respective project description
 Preferred: 
 -          Proven previous research experience  
-          Experience of working/studying abroad
