  • Duplicate effort is going into identifying and describing useful web resources.

  • A database approach reduces duplication and can provide information about multiple facets of a site.

  • URLs need to be checked for duplication when added.

  • Directories need to be interdisciplinary to provide access to related materials.

  • Directories need both content and style.
