Subject:  Interval Arithmetic

Hi Folks -

Does anyone out there know of any higher level computer
languages available that are capable of interval arithmetic? I'm
planning to write algorithms involving interval math, and I'd
rather not use a point-based language. If possible, I'd
prefer something that could be used on an IBM Powerstation.

I've heard that there is a extension to FORTRAN 77 called
FORTRAN-SC which offers interval data types, as well as an augmented
set of standard functions for interval arguments. However, I have not
been able to find any detailed information on this, and I don't think
it is in general use.

	I'd welcome any suggestions.

	Thanks,

	E. Steel
